I started this quilt, oh... hmmm... thinking *** oh yeah, this past summer. With the goal of finishing it, yes even having it quilted and bound and on the bed, before the summer was out. And then what happened? Life. I got a full time job and I had this quilting job on the side for the Alabama fan so it got a little delayed.
I like how it turned out. The small checkered border (which is something I like to add to all my stuff) is very subtle as it is two mediums of a similar tone so they blend at a distance to look like one strip of fabric but they are not.
To give you a perspective on the size of this quilt, I am laying on it in the picture below. I hadn't measured the quilt but I think that showing me on it is more fun than giving you a measurement. It is for a twin extra long but the bedframe is a cheap ugly metal one so I made it long enough to go to the floor.
Now I need to get this other project off of my long arm machine so I can quilt it. But the exciting part is that until that is done I get to start Brian's rooms quilt which are some totally different colors that are brights. Also the pattern is a new one for me and a little more challenging than this which is a simple log cabin. Classic of course but way easy. Next installment will be a showing of Brian's colors.
